Summit Construction
A 13-acre property between Tampa’s Channel District and historic Ybor City is transforming into luxury apartments. The company is expected to unveil its master plan and start construction by fall. Owner Darryl Shaw, the founder of BluePearl Specialty & Emergency Hospital, has experience in real estate and construction. He has led construction on several notable projects in Tampa. Among them are Hotel Haya, recently ranked as the country’s 2nd Best New Hotel, and the Oliva Cigar Factory, which features 38 luxury apartments.
Art installation
Located in the heart of downtown Tampa, Encore is a 28-acre master-planned urban development. It will feature multifamily rental units, office spaces, a revitalized park, and a hotel. The project will also feature a pedestrian-friendly design.

The project results from a public-private partnership, community collaboration, and state and federal support. The City of Tampa Housing Authority and the Banc of America Community Development Corporation provided funding for the project.
